The Barnard Bulletin reports ongoing debate over War Council authority to form a Canteen committee and the potential creation of a sub committee. Editors note that while no move to legislate chapéronaire or alumnae aid is planned, a formal student organization for Canteen workers may be established soon to address the large volunteer effort. The inclosure details proposals to stimulate student opinion and early action.
War Relief Council members sign a proposal urging a student governed organization within the college canteen. A committee is to draft a tentative constitution detailing student officers and duties, amid debate over governance and supervision.
In response to inquiries, Barnard reports a fair share of influenza cases, generally mild with proper treatment. The influenza vaccine is experimental and may yield varying immunity after two weeks. different strains affect immunity levels. Emphasis on bed isolation to curb spread, with strong enforcement to keep patients in bed.
Wilson College informed Barnard and other league members that a two thirds vote of the colleges computing the league decided not to hold the intercollegiate conference this year. Each member college is asked to send the president a list of its special problems and methods used in college activities, especially war work, to be compiled into a pamphlet if adopted.
