Fellowship For Foreigner Urged By Barnard Dean

Dean Gildersleeve urged giving a fellowship to a foreign student if funds from this year’s Student Fellowship Drive fall short for two awards. The goal is to promote international understanding, with a Barnard student representing another nation. The drive, set for October 16, funds a year’s study for a foreign entrant at Barnard and sends a Barnard senior abroad. Donations typically run dollars, and gifts may be pledged rather than paid all at once, with personal solicitation by a committee led by Marguerite Hoffmann and members including Appleton, Pecheux, Bach, Ten ey, McLaren, Williams, and others.
