Editorial on Freshmen to Seniors at College
The piece traces student attitudes from Freshmen enthusiasm to Senior apathy, noting the shift toward a less vocal upperclass and the rise of the upperclass talk strike. It reflects on why questions faded, classmates grew silent, and students justified withholding opinions to let lectures proceed.
Recommendations to enlarge curricular reviews and extend student access
The committee urges broader curricular evaluation with two questions on interest and course value. It proposes publishing department information for students, expanding Freshman handbooks, and promoting faculty office hours and class attendance. Additional recommendations include extending free cuts, allowing term marks without finals, and subscribing to the New Student in the Ella Weed Library.
