Barnard Bulletin published semi weekly during the college year by Barnard College students. Entered as second class after October 19, 1928, at New York post office. Subscription $3.50 per year, single copy 10 cents. Editorial Tobia Brown, Managing Editor.
In a formal meeting, Barnard representatives will elect a new term drive chairman and set drive goals. The current year funded a student scholarship for new freshmen, a donor-driven effort praised for management but criticized as not a permanent goal for term drive.
The Representative Assembly supported Student Council’s plan to discontinue the Barnard Book Co op after a Wednesday meeting. Insufficient interest meant the cooperative would close, with a move toward an informal book exchange via a central bulletin board to connect buyers and sellers and reduce risk.
Evelyn Eve Harden a SPAR and Coast Guard veteran attends Barnard full time and aims for Columbia Law School after June 1956. She traveled 100000 miles, lived in 25 states, worked as a model and actress, and held roles in Japan and Alabama. Her path spans military recruitment, theater, and studies across multiple colleges. She plans a government and international relations major with club activity, aiming for a legal career.
Minor Latham Drama Workshop presents one act plays by O Case y Saroyan and Lorca. Saroyan’s Hello Out There shines with professional ease led by Charles Fatone and Elin Brown while Lorca’s Love of Don Perlimplin falls short of unity but returns with poetic moments led by Hale Gabriл son.
Miss Helen Wright runs the College Activities Office in room 104 and guides student groups in planning and budgeting dances and other events. The Social Council reviews dates, bands, tickets, and posters, while Wright also handles posters, class meetings, and city entertainment flyers, aiming to engage day students and develop student leadership.
