Colleges in Sing Sing Prison Study by Chaplain Peterson

Protestant chaplain Anthony N. Peterson says college prisoners at Sing Sing commit burglary, forgery is most common, and only a few work through college. He notes alumni from Princeton to Glasgow gather there, with many educated inmates offering legal and medical aid. He cites rare murders and few teachers among inmates, and he recalls no one who earned a degree while working.
