The Assemblies and Curriculum committees announce a three part series on Greek thought to address gaps in student knowledge after majors. They hope for strong attendance and view non required lectures as a pathway to active Barnard community life. Senior class meetings suffer low quorum but plan Senior Week events and a class gift within ongoing decisions.
Twenty five Barnard alumnae have returned to work in admin roles including Miss Bliss executive secretary and Miss McCann director of admissions. The group reflects enduring Barnard ties with former students now guiding current programs and fundraising through the Barnard Fund under Mrs Brecht.
Cathy Comes '56, newly nominated at Barnard, is praised for Studies Sports and Student Government. Born in Hackensack New Jersey she lived in Florida Maryland Maine North Carolina and Connecticut during a whirlwind childhood. She led seven schools by seventh grade and finished first in her high school class. At Barnard she earned a Dean's List record and starred in athletics and student leadership while pursuing economics with plans for graduate study at the London School of Economics.
The reviewer lauds Barnard's Under Construction for balancing talent and class effort. Ruth Ehrenberg is cited for a standout college president portrayal while Piri Halasz and a strong female cast receive praise. Music by Judy Gordon Ann Sperber Corinne Endreny. lighting by Frank Rinaldi. directed by Barbara Florio. Sarah Barr led as Book Chairman.
