Fourth Murder by Players Shows Good Direction and Acting
Patricia Weenelsen reviews Columbia University Players annual staging of T. S. Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral at St. Paul’s Chapel. Preston Munter’s direction creates simulated action through tonal contrasts among chorus, choir, and soloists. Roger Boxill as Becket delivers dignified diction, while the chorus and costumes by Gloria Wyeth and Milton Levine, plus lighting by Denioce Goubert and music by Richard Chodash, heighten tension and atmosphere. Tickets sold out. early arrival advised for next year.
