Barnard College students publish their semi weekly newspaper for the college year. It is issued by the Undergraduate Association and varies with vacation and examination periods. The issue is Volume nine, Number 29, dated 1930.
Editorial argues the old system of attendance is relic and college should favor independent study. It claims free cuts undermine discipline and that real motivation comes from curiosity and discussion, not external sheets. The piece questions retention of attendance controls in Senior Classes.
Mr Henry Rapaport told Barnard and Columbia Juniors that social service work is both pleasurable and a career prep, in a joint February 12 tea and meeting at Earl Slall auditorium. The program highlighted Federation aims to place young people in New York City social service roles and recruit summer camp counselors.
The New bulletin of the Harmon Foundation reports college graduates often lack a plan for managing money and follow no financial self discipline. It calls for courses in personal finance and thrift to instill respect for business laws and reduce indebtedness.

A reviewer calls Tower Depths by Gorky one of the season’s ten best, praising its vernacular atmosphere and strong acting while noting it lacks a cohesive grandeur. It portrays twenty characters in a slop house, with intense but diffuse action.
At the Metropolitan on Friday February 21 Bodan conducts the second performance in the Wagner cycle. Carnegie Hall hosts Jascha Heifetz on Wednesday February 19 and Alli Spalding the same evening at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Carnegie also presents a conductorless symphony concert on February 21.
An exhibition features Giorgia O'Keefe painting floral and grave stone patterns at Steiglitz Galleries 509 Madison Ave. Also on display is The French Picasso and Derain from 1900 to 1929 at Rheinhardt 730 Fifth Ave at 57th St with Daumier lithography and bookplates.
Special features highlight Sci Lang Fang and an acting troupe performing scenes from his dramas at the 49th Street Theater for a limited engagement. Also showcasing Neighborhood Playhouse experiments in symphonic drama. Includes three musical stage versions directed by Irene Lewisohn and a Cleveland Orchestra program with Sokoloff conducting and Harold Bauer as pianist at Mecca Auditorium on Feb 20 21 22.
The February 13 meeting of the Student Council discussed election procedures for the Bulletin editor in chief. Five girls are testing for the role, and council will defer to the Bulletin board with its approval. The group also adjusted the Honor Board Chairman election timing and asked presidents to review class constitutions for resignation procedures.
