The Barnard Bulletin editorials urge students to improve conduct amid complaints of misbehavior. It argues thoughtlessness leads to heedlessness and indifference, calling every girl to uphold decorum and protect Barnard’s reputation.
The infirmary shifts from room 110 to 109 and the door will stay unlocked only temporarily unless every student uses the room properly. Prior abuse of the space for dancing and socializing led to restricted access, causing hardship for those needing rest. The article pleads for better conduct and notes ample study space elsewhere.
The notice urges female students to guard against noisiness while stating that neither the college nor authorities wish to implement primary school discipline in the college setting. It underscores restraint and proper conduct as a matter of campus decorum.
A December 11 meeting of the Classical Club elected Mr. Ed gar Sturtevant to honorary membership. The play committee includes dg Muller as chairman with Marie Young Mildred Kerner and Alice Grant named among the members.
On Wednesday December 11 1910 the 1910 class held a ghost party in the theatre. Girls dressed in ghostly white formed a ring and received a “grind” as candles shed a solemn light. Ghost stories followed with chilling voices as ice cream sandwiches and pickles aided the mood before a jolly dance to close. Committee members were Elsie Plant Grace Reeder Ethel Shaw Laura Stryker and Helen Crossman.
At last Thursday's practice the girls learned three new songs. The difficult rhythm challenged their rendering but after several efforts the warblers achieved a triumph. The spirit and quality of singing this year have improved noticeably.
