Barnard Plans History Driven Physics Lab Course
Barnard College physics department, aided by a $98 350 NSF grant, designs a laboratory course to recreate historic experiments under original conditions. Assistant Professor Lillian Barimanti says equipment from original notes will be used to deepen understanding of discovery rather than results. About eighteen tentative experiments are planned and the course is slated to begin in September 1969 for majors in any field.
