Debating Section of Barnard Union Debate Result

On April 3 a Barnard Union debate considered if State Boards of Arbitration with compulsory powers should be appointed to settle disputes between employers and employees. The affirmative, led by Marjorie F. Brown and Clara Schmidt, defeated Rosa Fried and Lucie Mayo-Smith. the affirmative won.

A Barnard College committee seeks health comparisons between Barnard seniors and peers at Bryn Mawr Vassar Smith and Bryn Mawr. Results show about half the seniors report unchanged health with few noting improvement, while others report decline due to demanding curriculum and urban life.

Summer school for foreign students at University of Dijon

The University of Dijon announces a summer program for foreign students running July to October. Courses include French practice, translation, literature, history, and lectures on French life with excursions to sites and industries in Dijon. The Barnard Botanical Club will meet at 205 West 57th Street on Saturday April 15 at 4 PM. Miss May M Brackett Barnard 99 will speak on A Summer at the Tropical station of the New York Botanical Garden at Chinchona Jamaica with lantern slides. Members and those interested in botany are invited.
