Carpenter Henry Smith Falls 75 Feet to Death Near Waunakee
Henry Smith aged twenty five, a carpenter contractor, fell seventy five feet from a scaffold at the William Spahn farm two miles west of Waunakee. He died instantly from a broken neck and fractured skull after the haymow window door is believed to have blown open. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs Matthew Smith, one brother in Waunakee, and a married sister in Madison.

Vogler Auto Crashes Into Tree Near Portage
W. H. Vogler was severely injured Tuesday when his auto struck a tree on the Portage road. He suffered bruises and head cuts, was taken by a passing car to Portage, lay unconscious, and was later brought to Baraboo by Fred Terbilcox. He rests easily in a local hospital.

Stephenson Estate Ordered to Pay Full Inheritance Tax
The estate of Isaac Stephenson must pay the full inheritance tax assessed by Marinette County authorities. The Marinette county court and state estimated the tax at about 286 thousand dollars on an estate valued around 4.48 million. The dispute centered on construction of inheritance tax law and prior to death Stephenson created a trust for himself and heirs involving roughly 4.5 million in property.

Silent Heroes Reach Chicago
More than 200 silent heroes were sent from Friday to Chicago to await transport to western towns and the Pacific coast. Coffins draped with the stars and stripes, each with a soldier escort, moved to Wisconsin cemeteries and country hillsides. Mis Eunice Knable Injured In Auto Runaway Near Kilbourn
Miss Eunice Knable about 17 of a farm between Kilbourn and Delton was struck while riding a horse near the Newport fork Tuesday night. A passing auto is believed responsible and fled the scene. She remained unconscious after care by a Kilbourn doctor, with internal and external injuries and the horse’s step adding to trauma. She is taken to her parents’ home and reported near death.
