The Philathea class of the Baptist church gathered at Mrs. G. B. Higgins home on Thursday. A brief business session preceded a program of contests and music by Miss Luella Siggliekow, followed by light refreshments. The group adjourned to meet with Miss Ruth Arnott in April.
Baraboo honors Wesley Barton aged 96 born 1818 in Illinois. He aided a runaway slave in 1855, fought in the Civil War, lost a farm after the 1868 crash, and now lives with his devoted daughter on Highth avenue. He recalls Sheriff Jerry Rusk and old community life with quiet pride.
