Freedom dash ends with Churchill’s jailbreak mock escape

Baraboo residents and officials intercept a fake escape plan as Charles FE M Churchill is aided by Marquardt and Ableman. City Wile Vote on Bond Issue for Junior High

At a Thursday council meeting the city moved to seek a bond issue of 200000 to buy land and build a junior high school, with 165000 for the building and 35000 for the land. The board of education supported the proposal as alderman William Carlisch and assistant city clerk Miss Etta Clark resigned to be effective after a successor is installed.

Iron bar assault case heard in Sauk County circuit court

Alfred Frick sues Micheal Ringelstetter for two thousand dollars after being knocked unconscious with an iron bar in Plain. A storm earlier wrecked the nearby church and a barn sold to Frick became central to the dispute. Jurors awarded Frick 575 dollars in compensatory damages with no exemplary damages and the defendant to pay costs. Ringelstetter's counter claim was denied.

Barley Yield Ties Sauk County with Dane in Wisconsin

The Madison crop report lists Sauk County as tied for eighth in barley with 33.5 bushels per acre, alongside Dane in sixth in corn at 40.8 bushels. Other top county yields include Jefferson 49.4 oats and 2.02 tame hay, Sheboygan 45.8 corn, Barron 22.4 ty e barley, Walworth 25.6 winter wheat, Forest and Florence 124.2 potatoes, plus a note on bridges and local driving.
