At Ableman Quarry on Friday Emil Schuck aged about thirty was seriously crushed when a rock weighing at least half a ton rolled over him breaking a leg and bruising his body. A nurse and doctor were called and he remains badly hurt at home with two children and a sober lifelong resident.
The good roads boys contest gains traction across Sauk and neighboring counties with printed materials sent to county agricultural representatives. In Sauk County eighteen boys are at work under William Schenck, while Sumpter leads other towns with fourteen participants.
Mary Donahue transfers 38.83 acres in Winfield to Ralph Stillick for 2500. Clark Townsend sells land in Reedsburg to E H Gardner for 1. James Heffel transfers land in Winfield to Ralph Stillick for 1. John Koeppe sells land in Baraboo to T E Mead for 1. Louise Wagenbreth transfers a Seventh street house and lot to Frank Parrish for 1. Fred Lange sells land in Freedom to Mable Buxton for 950.
The supreme court dismissed the appeal in the partition dispute over the Starks farm at Ableman. It held the circuit court had not issued a final adjudication of rights and interests, noting that a court order or judgment is needed to determine legal rights before sale proceedings can proceed. The case referenced section 3143 and required an actual determination by the trial court. The appellants argued sale could not occur before rights were decided, despite steps toward sale.

The president spoke in a heart to heart address to National Press Club members with remarks not intended for print. Peter Kaufman of Honey Creek filed a complaint against L Miller for selling liquor without a license. Rudolph Penshorn of Woodland near Wonewoc used a burlap net in Plum Creek to catch suckers. Wisconsin Game Warden George H. Bennett and Sheriff Hale investigated. Penshorn paid $39.50 in fines and costs after testifying at Baraboo, with Justice Halsted presiding.
Miss Luella Sigglekow, guest of honor at a novelty shower hosted by Miss Beulah Smith, was surprised by twenty friends. The R L C club colors green and white decorated the home with a green cord spiderweb as a centerpiece. A three course dinner followed with green and white place cards and candles, and pink bouquets marking Miss Sigglekow’s seat.
Elmer Thompson of Lodi, long confined by a badly fractured ankle from a horse kick, had regained some strength but ten days ago suffered a renewed setback. He is back on crutches and expects an ankle X ray soon.
The County Y M C A distributed bushels of Rural New Yorker seed potatoes from Spooner Wisconsin to six Sauk county groups. Each boy will exhibit one peck at the county fair and at the Wisconsin Potato Growers convention in Fan Claire, with seed treated to prevent scab. Leaders include Professor W E Smith and Superintendent W H Babcock.
The Fairbury News-Republican reports Seabury Hall’s Wednesday graduation including Kenneth D. Martin of Baraboo, son of Mrs. Laura Martin. Bishop S. C. Hasall presided, Rt. Rev. T. Mott Williams preached, and a faculty reception followed. The graduates are to be ordained at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour on Ascension day, June 1, at 11 o'clock by three bishops.
Mrs Mary Marlow of Kilbourn travels to Milwaukee after the death of an cousin's wife. Mrs Pauline Hoffman of Marshfield visits her brother A Clemmie. Martin Haskins suffers a paralytic stroke on Monday morning May 22. Mr and Mrs Will Harris were in Maustin recently. Mr and Mrs Frank Gibson and daughter Marie and Mrs Fanny Bienerman visit Prairie du Sac in March in Gibson's new car.
Ernest Clemmie of Kilbourn traveled to Milwaukee for surgery to remove a tumor from his limb.
