Sauk County plans hiring older boys to drag roads on earth highways this year. Supervisors Meare Schenck and Pearson lead a committee with county Y M C A secretary Babcock vetting volunteer names. Township chairmen will select workers and car owners have started a prize fund to reward effort. Reedsburg auto owners began fundraising with about fifty gifts of one dollar each. County Highway Commissioner G F Post endorses the plan.

Pinned Under Tree Man Dies in Wisconsin Woods
Mathew Armes, four miles south of Medford, Wisconsin, was crushed and froze to death after a tree he felled pinned him. He cried for help but was unable to lift the log. he left for the woods early and did not return for dinner until his wife found him.

Baraboo Woman Nellie Jeffries Dies in Reedsburg
Mrs Nellie Huntington Jeffries of Baraboo died at her sister M W H Ramsey’s home in Reedsburg after a brief illness due to heart trouble. She was about sixty and left a daughter Mrs M E Seymour of Reedsburg and three sons Homer Lee H and Raymond of Baraboo. Surviving relatives include her brother Attorney Sol Huntington of Green Bay. The remains go to Baraboo Friday morning for funeral services Saturday at 2 o clock at the home of Lee H Jeffries with Dr S M Wilson of Reedsburg officiating.

Kilbourn Woman Dies in Street by Heart Disease
Mrs. Ceylon Stowell dropped dead on a Kilbourn street Wednesday. A downtown walk encounter and a doctor's observation confirmed heart disease as the cause. She was about sixty and survived by a husband and several children.

Injunction Halts Hillsboro Railroad Extension Work

Stove Gas Suffocates Young Man in Iroquois
