Vault Safe-Breaking Outfit Found At North Freedom
A nitroglycerin cap kit, fuse, masks and a revolver were found secreted at the stock yards in North Freedom. Detectives say the setup was for blowing a safe and a quick attack on a bank or safes was feared. Two suspicious men were seen in Baraboo when the property was discovered.

Wild chase ends with stolen locomotive abandonment near Sussex
A Milwaukee area theft ended when two locomotives roared 10 miles through fog north of Milwaukee before the fleeing engine was abandoned near Sussex. John Beasley claimed noninvolvement, while Robert Spornitz fled. detectives recovered the motor and pursued a planned merchandise heist with a $9 check trace.
