Life of James Cardinal Gibbons Explored by Club
The Catholic Women's club at K. C. hall heard a paper by Mrs. H. C. Brown on James Cardinal Gibbons his Baltimore birth in 1834 his Chicago path to priesthood and long service. The oration covers his Civil War chaplaincy his advocacy for labor rights and his role in World War efforts and Catholic War Council. He died March 24 in Baltimore at 86 to worldwide reverence.
