Miss Madge McKinley of Chicago assists the Baraboo Business and Professional Woman's club in staging the musical comedy review Facts and Fancies at the Al Ringling theatre on January 24 and 25. Executive chairmen are Mrs. W. E. Baringer, Miss Maude True, Miss Neta Palmer, and Miss Maude Archer handles tickets. Rehearsals run afternoons for school groups and evenings for cast with vaudeville acts. McKinley represents the Marlett Cargill Company and uses Ellis Long & Company store as headquarters.
Baraboo Co G basketball easily routed Madison 4C 49 to 13 after a 27 to 11 halftime. Baraboo led scorers as fouls were few in a largely clean game and optimism for the season grew. North Freedom and Baraboo HS squads won prior by large margins. next doubleheader slated for Friday January 13 at the local gym.
An elderly man, about sixty, said he walked from Green Bay toward Portage needing work at an ice house. An automobilist from Beaver Dam to Fox Lake gave him a lift to Fox Lake. He has not reached Portage and may seek employment elsewhere.

Harold Platt proprietor of the Baraboo River Ice company and successor to Paul Gust has begun cutting ice on the Baraboo river. The cold spell has produced ice about ten inches thick. Last year mild weather limited cuts forcing Gust to source ice for Baraboo patrons part of the summer.
The Sauk County Red Cross drive in Baraboo raised a total of 624.60 from ward and local contributors. First Ward recorded 139 solicitors. Second Ward 323. Third Ward contributed 162 from banks and individuals. A local report notes multiple community groups and banks participated in the annual roll call.
L Verby of Racine visited Baraboo and unveiled the William M Allen building on Oak Street to serve a women’s ready-to-wear stock. The store is to be completed by March 1 with an opening planned soon after, as Verby aims to relocate his family after school closes next June.
The Baraboo Valley Ministerial association met Monday at the Wellington hotel with nearly all members present. Rev W W Moore spoke on The Creed of Doubt and Rev E O Coontz offered a selection titled Securing Elements of a Lively Prayer Meeting. Next gathering set for the first Monday in February at Reedsburg.
