John Longfield, a watchman for American Tobacco Co. in Madison, was killed about 2 am by a burglar who entered the warehouse to try the safe. Police believe a shotgun was used. Longfield, married, resided at 1418 East Dayton. patrolmen found him dead on site.

Poisoned berries kill eighteen month old in Wisconsin
Rudolph Young, eighteen months, died at home near Pisin on December 11 after weeks of stomach trouble believed to be caused by poison berries. The child was buried in St. Luke's cemetery.
