A report notes a fatal accident at Kilbourn involving liquor storage near the river. A head injury was caused by a heavy object, leading to a death after the incident. Authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and its connection to the liquor site.
Ferdinand Gibson 24 disappeared October 28 from Kilbourn. His crushed skull body was recovered in the Wisconsin river near the power dam. The inquest notes possible homicide or accident with theories centering on a quarrel over a daughter and a rocky cliff edge by the river. Gibson had prior time at Green Bay reform school and a divorce in Ohio.
The local Masonic lodge observed its annual honor for past masters with a 6:00 p.m. banquet at the Masonic temple. Over one hundred members attended the meal and social hour, then the regular lodge work by past masters. More than fifty visiting Masons joined from Reedsburg North Freedom Portage Lodi Wilton and nearby areas. remarks were offered by several visitors. A Wednesday Episcopal church bazaar netted $100 and drew a large crowd with a fine supper and brisk booth sales.
Wisconsin territorial club seeks members admitted prior to statehood. Eligible individuals should send name and birthplace details to the office. Members receive a certificate with a gold seal after listing closes. Examples include M. C. Johnson Baraboo 1841 and Mrs. Leander Wheeler Lime Ridge born 1845.
The Prairie du Sac free public library receives 1000 dollars from the Dissolution of the Union, Unitarian and Universalist Society, with 200 dollars to St. John's Lutheran for a bell. The library’s income will fund books. An oil painting by Mrs. C. A. Orr, valued at 150 dollars, was also given, tied to Dr. and Mrs. Orr’s ties to Prairie du Sac.

A special Sauk City election on December 2 approved a $10,000 bond to fund a free Wisconsin River bridge joint with Roxbury. The vote was 166 in favor and 4 against. A Roxbury election followed on December 9.
J M Hunt recalls December first on Devils Lake when he and others rode and posed in shirtsleeves near the station. He notes Christmas Eve warmth then a cold Christmas Day, mirroring the present season's pattern.
John W Hanzlik died in Ironton on Wednesday aged about 78. Born in Europe he worked as a moulder at the Ironton iron works before moving to Cazenovia where he served as postmaster and partnered with the Blakeslees. An enthusiastic mason and pioneer of the Ironton lodge, he is survived by a wife and sons Martin Frank William and Kathryn and daughters Hattie Smith and others.
Miss Olga Ender and Otto Ender of Nicollet Minnesota visited Mr and Mrs Andrew Kaehler in Baraboo and traveled to Wonewoc to visit the Hippa family. They expect to return to Nicollet after a few days in the area.
Lieutenant Arley Martin of Madison and Miss Cora Stewart of Reedsburg were married today by Rev. C. H. K. Mayhew at the Baptist church. Captain Leo Darrenougue of Reedsburg and Captain Albert H. Clark of Baraboo witnessed. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs John Stewart. after a trip home the couple will reside in Madison. The groom serves as state military inspector and met his bride during travels through Reedsburg.
The Milwaukee Journal notes Idaho sent two cars of potatoes to Milwaukee for the first time. The consignments to the Fietzner Co. are of fancy quality and sell at 1.10 dollars per bushel wholesale, considerably higher than local Idaho potatoes at 65 to 80 cents.
The case of the city of Reedsburg versus former City Clerk Huebing is postponed from December 8 to December 17. The noted shortage is about $9,000 with a bond set at $5,000.
While unloading a car of coal at the Baraboo Gas and Electric plant, workers found a fuel piece resembling charcoal. The specimen appears to be wood-like in origin, and plant personnel say they have never seen such a material before.
Christian L. Sprecher of Honey Deck and Ernan Scheiss of Troy are listed as parties seeking a marriage license.
A Wisconsin couple, Eve lyn Brogley and Dr. John Edward Clark, wed at the First Methodist parsonage with W P MacVey performing. Attendants Wilda Woodward Weston Essington and Ross Arthur. The bride, from a prominent southern Wisconsin German family, has worked in millinery in Butte Montana and Platteville Normal graduate. The groom, son of Dr and Mrs R H Clark of Baraboo, is a Chicago trained physician. They plan a ten day honeymoon visiting Chicago Lancaster Platteville and Baraboo before beginning housekeeping.
A notice reports the death of F G Stanley at his Chippewa Falls home at nearly ninety. He was born in New York, lived in Baraboo since territorial times, knew Count Haraszthy, witnessed Sauk Prairie Indian scare, and helped lay out Baraboo to cemetery road. He leaves a wife and three daughters, two in Chippewa Falls and one in Minneapolis.
