Widow of Sauk County workman awarded $3,000
Catherine Thorp widow of J. W. Thorp received a $3,000 death benefit by order of the industrial commission. The payment is to be made by contractor Al Lindermer, employer at the time of Thorp’s fatal July 8, 1916, fall from a barn roof on John Huber’s Sauk County farm. Thorp died August 22 after treatment failed at Madison General Hospital. The commission ruled Lindermer the real employer, rejecting Dresen Bros. as factors, and found Lindermer covered by the compensation law despite claiming only two employees.

Physician Dies at Reedsburg After Sudden Illness
