Engineer and Mrs J W Wettstein report Corporal Roy Wettstein Co A 128 Inf US National Guard severely wounded August 1 in action. Mrs Kate Cummings Vinestreet says Corporal Eugene Rexford Cummings seriously wounded on the western front in France August 3. Sergeant Doran A Dieter also severely wounded. All three were in Co A the original Reedburg Baraboo company who left for Texas about a year ago. Mr and Mrs George McCray Reedburg report their son wounded at the battlefront. He is nephew of Mrs R M Dickie North Freedom.

Cars Grash Suffer Damage In Two Impacts
Fred Hindricks of between here and LaValle had his Studebaker crushed after a collision with a Ford driven by a Prouty boy near the County Farm Cemetery. No injuries were reported. Earlier Dr. Hummel in Ableman escaped damage when his one seated coupe Ford was struck near the four corners by Adams boys in a large car.

Hand severed near Necedah bridge by passing train
Henry Salter was beside the Wisconsin river C. and N. W. bridge at Necedah when he slept near the track. A train crushed his right hand above the wrist, necessitating amputation. The incident occurred on a hot night while he watched the bridge, as reported to The Republican.
