Broadus coal aids new oil field near Willow Creek

Broadus coal delivers to the Sand Creek oil prospect site, six miles east of Brady, with 40 tons loaded this week and more planned. Freight rates range from 10 dollars a ton for long hauls to Belle Fourche, to 8 dollars for local coal, saving the project money by using Broadus lignite for steam. Executives including J. L. Post Office Quarters Bids Sought for Baker Montana

The Post Office Department will accept sealed proposals until June 10 1925 for furnishing suitable post office quarters at Baker Montana with heat light water facilities and a burglar proof safe. Lease terms of five or ten years from September 6 1925 and about 1100 square feet of daylight central space are requested. Specifications and lease form are available at the Postmaster’s office.

Oil test planned for Wolf Creek area in Belle Fourche region

Jim Armstrong returned from Belle Fourche and Wolf Creek oil dam area where California Montana Syndicate spudded a test well to 40 feet. Delays in casing delivery hold progress. Armstrong expects daily wire on arrival. Grubl plans to move rig north of Thompson Creek bridge area, about ten miles from Wolf Creek dome and 20 miles west of Alzada, as signs point to possible oil excitement and field development.
