Wolf Creek field drill begins under Dr Ralph Arnold guidance
Under the direction of Ralph Arnold drilling starts on the first test well in the Wolf Creek field by California Oil Interests. Arnold, state geologist of California, will visit the site to select future angling locations as oil interests watch progress. Royalties have been sold around the Scott Bruce tract and local landowners in Baker, Ekalaka and nearby areas show interest. Drilling has reached over 200 feet with sands expected to show earlier results.

Clark faced two counts of sale of moonshine. case one was dropped after he pleaded guilty to both counts in the second case. He received not less than one nor more than two years in Deer Lodge State Penitentiary with hard labor and fines of 300 dollars on each count.

Carbon Black Starts New Well on the Beckman Farm
The Gas Products Company spadded in for the fourth well on the Beckman farm about a mile north of Baker. Three wells already yield strong gas production and about $200 per well in rental. If this well produces gas, the 80 acre tract could return $800 yearly from gas alone. The owner once offered the land for $20 per acre.
