Shooting Near Baker Leads to Jail for James Jordan
James Jordan, living six miles northeast of Baker, surrendered to the sheriff after shooting Joe White at the John Holman place where White worked. White, wounded, was taken to hospital with part of a hand amputated and is reported in fair condition. Jordan, held in the county jail, claims a settlement following brewing trouble over alleged attentions to Jordan’s daughter. Mrs. Jordan remains seriously ill in Miles City hospital.
