Doctors praise free newspaper publicity over paid ads
A Wayne County Press opinion by Dr. G A McDonald argues medical ethics condemn paid advertising but accept free editorials. He cites cases from Chlorine Gas treatments, Dr Lorenz fame, and World War era publicity, claiming free notices aid public awareness while paid ads shield quacks and hinder medical progress. He urges open information on new treatments to the public.
