Highest Telephone Pole Sets World Tallest Structure

The Pacific States Telephone Co. raised a 126 foot single Washington fir pole to cross the Chehales river near Aberdeen Washington. The pole weighs 6000 pounds and was towed 12 miles for erection by 12 workers using a 12 horsepower hoisting engine. It is guyed with steel cables and blocks and stood 12 feet in the ground.
