Floyd Walls veteran and Baker resident dies after long illness
Floyd Leslie Walls, a Baker area resident and World War I veteran, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday at his mother's home at age 387 years, reportedly from multiple myeloma. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Congregational church with the American Legion in charge. Burial followed at Bonniferga cemetery with a rifle salute. Walls, born December 27, 1886 in Wheaton Minnesota, lived in Velva and Baker, served in the 378th squadron in World War I, and was active in the American Legion and fraternal lodges. He is survived by his mother, three sisters, and two brothers.
