Legion Masquerade at Masonic Hall Draws Crowd in Baker
Fallon Post 35 of the American Legion hosted the largest social event of the year with a masquerade dance at the Masonic Hall. Music by Platsh orchestra played 8:30 pm to 1:30 am as costumed attendees filled the hall and noon supper at Kozy Cafe followed. Prizes honored Martha and George Washington costumes Miss Vine Donovan and Mrs. Wm Poole won first prize. Akers won for comical makeup. Audrey Young and Ben Ferris claimed best costumes. Group prize went to four ladies and a prize waltz was awarded to Mrs. George Vinton and George Raymond. Proceeds funded Legion rooms bought last year.

Word has been received of the death of Ralph D. Hyde February 12 in Escanaba Michigan. Hyde was sales manager for the Oakland Motor Company for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at the time of his death. He and his wife formerly lived in Baker where he was connected with a Lumber Company. Mrs. Hyde was Harriet Warren daughter of F S Warren former Baker residents. Hyde leaves a wife and three daughters.
