Montana lawmakers seek $160000 annual savings from two bills
After forty days in session with under twenty working days left, legislators consider two economy bills. One would have Montana carry its own fire insurance risks, saving about $100,000 yearly for state and local governments. The other creates a bonding board to insure officials, cutting premiums by roughly $60,000 annually. If enacted, these measures could greatly reduce state costs.
