Truck farming transforms Lowndes County farmer's life and land
Mr. McRee and partner Talley pioneered truck farming in South Georgia eight years ago. They profited richly from melons cucumbers and vegetables while enriching their soil and boosting cotton yields. The venture grew from local skepticism to widespread adoption, with gains per acre ranging from $50 to $600 and a total net of about $15,200 last year.
