A Washington report to the Baltimore Sun details a clerk in the appointment division who earned 650 dollars annually but was paid half that amount for two years. She split the half with an outside influential ally who helped her secure the job. The investigator, Higgins, proposes paying her full salary if she stays and performs well, or canceling her appointment and replacing her to end the outside obligation.

Levy to satisfy unpaid State and County Taxes for various years. Sheriff Patterson signs the notice.
