Oil Trust Plant Burns in Spectacular Fire at Bismarck
A Standard Oil plant in Bismarck North Dakota burned in a total loss fire on May 23. An employee had left a storeroom area used for filling small tanks from larger tanks of kerosene and gasoline. Firefighters faced hydrant distance delays as oil spilled and flames spread. Two small tanks exploded throwing burning oil. a gasoline tank blew apart, parts traveling 800 feet.
