A section of the dam at Ciudad Juarez collapsed on May 4, drowning between fifteen and twenty workers. Rescue teams report thirteen bodies recovered and several others missing or injured as the disaster adds to a wave of recent fatalities in Chihuahua State.
Ruth Nash sixteen and her two nephews George four and Harold sixteen months were killed by a Grand Trunk passenger train on Richfield road. Geell Nash suffered probable fatal injuries.
In Portland Oregon two men linked to eastern Oregon land frauds were sentenced by Presiding Judge Wittunt. One received a $14,000 fine and four months in jail with portions stayed. Other defendants like Henderson, Wetwin, and Barnard had sentencing postponed to September due to government objections to the defense bill of exceptions.

In Pittsburg on May 4, electric street lamps across Pittsburg and Allegheny City were extinguished at 1 a m. A blaze sprang from a pole bearing large cables to the Allegheny Light company plant. The pole carried 3 100 voltage, a level that could have proved fatal to firemen if hoses were applied directly.
Boston May 4 The fishing schooner Mystery returning from the Banks reports eight men lost in a fog sixty miles from Cape Sable. The tragedy follows the vessel’s voyage and disappearance during the voyage.
