United States Reserves Right on Armament Limits at Peace Conference

At The Hague on June 20 the second session of the conference discussed limits on armament and the right to present the issue for Germany. General Porter stated the U S reserve to raise the question and a dual section on collection of debt. Britain and Germany indicated support for proposals including an international prize court for maritime war. The initial proposition reportedly would come from Germany with swift support from the United States and Great Britain.

Poison Capsule Aimed at Barrington Intercepted

A mailed capsule laced with strychnine intended for Lord Frederick Seymour Barrington, jailed awaiting execution for the McCann slaying, was intercepted by the sheriff. Telegraph Workers threaten nationwide strike over demands

Johnson receives doctor of laws at Pennsylvanians graduation

Torpedo Destroyer Sinks After Explosion Off Torquay

Four torpedo boat destroyers conducted steam trials off Torquay bay when an explosion occurred on one vessel. Twenty crew members jumped or fell into the water and were rescued by the torpedo gunboat Dryad. The damaged destroyer sank shortly after.
