South Korea reports sinking of a 75 foot spy boat on the southwest coast after a night operation to capture agent Kim Yong ki on Huksan Island. The vessel carried multiple guns and eight automatic rifles. No Korean casualties reported. Kim Yong ki, 38, of Haeju, tied to a Communist espionage mission.
Washington analysts differ on the Viet Congs creation of a provisional revolutionary government for South Vietnam. Some see potential for progress at Paris, others expect a hard line, while Humphrey calls the move a hopeful sign for a negotiated settlement. The U S position remains that the Viet Cong lineup is unchanged beyond a name change.
The government filed a civil antitrust suit against U S Steel Corp accusing it of using reciprocal purchase arrangements to monopolize steel sales. A consent judgment would bar such dealings for ten years.

St Paul AP. After talks with Gov. LeVander and Northwest Airlines, the Metropolitan Airports Commission agreed to ask its board to withdraw the Ham Lake Anoka County site proposal. Chairman Lawrence Hall said a fresh start on site selection is planned with no area favored or excluded. Northwest had balked at Ham Lake and moved part of a $25 million project to Seattle.
Two armed men wearing black hoods robbed a Girard Trust Bank branch in Yeadon Pennsylvania, fleeing with 33479. A hidden camera captured the suspects. one man with a shotgun forced three customers and four employees to lie on the floor while the other jumped the counter and emptied three cash drawers.

The U.S. Command said two brigades of the 9th Infantry Division and a Marine landing team from the 3rd Marine Division will be pulled out of South Vietnam by August end and replaced by South Vietnamese forces. About 16,000 troops in the first withdrawal, part of Nixon's 25,000 man replacement plan, will leave by mid July or later, with details to be announced after a Honolulu task force meets. The 9th Division and the 3rd Marine Division have long operated in the Mekong Delta and I Corps near the DMZ, with redeployment aimed at shifting combat forces to the United States.
Northwest Airlines and its 1,600 pilots reached a settlement after a six hour strike that began at midnight. National Mediation Board Chairman Leverett Edwards announced the agreement, noting it avoids a prolonged strike and returns the airline to full operation while pilots resume flights. The deal cuts pilot flying time from 85 to 80 hours per month starting July 1 1970 and adds a special differential for Boeing 747jumbo pilots. Ted Lieber of ALPA said pilots were told to resume regular scheduled flights.
NASA has hired former top Pentagon intelligence official Eugene G. Fubini as an adviser to review scientific and engineering aspects of agency programs. Sworn in June 5, Fubini previously headed electronic spying efforts at NSA, and his appointment follows the Air Force’s scrapping of the MOL space station program to save money.

At Subic Bay Philippines a British Royal Navy submarine bumped a U S Navy minesweeper while docking. The submarine Rorqual was not damaged and no crew members were injured, a U S spokesman said.
A 25-year-old man from Wyoming Mich. was charged with the murder of 33-year-old secretary Donna Vivemary Gehring. Her partially clad body was found in a grassy field south of Grand Rapids. Moritz was arraigned at midnight on the murder charge.
