Taylor’s residence as telegrams report schools closing for admirals view. The journey from Chicago drew a long ovation with strong handclasps.
In Chicago on January 29 President Theodore Roosevelt was elected an honorary member of the Union League Club by a unanimous rising vote. The decision may lead to an invitation for the president to visit Chicago soon.
