Morrison Wins Austin Christmas Lighting Contest Home Display
Robert Morrison of 1302 Park won the Austin Junior Chamber of Commerce Christmas lighting contest with a yard to roof display and a $40 first prize. George Cecka placed second with a nativity scene, while Dr. Walter H. Nordin Sr. took third for a snowlit design. Other top finishers were Anton Bos in fourth and Jack Carr in fifth. The 100 prize money came from the Jaycees and the Austin Chamber of Commerce. Judges included Mayor Baldy Hansen and others. Joe Stenger chaired. Black and white photos of Morrison’s house will advance to state competition.
