Coed Charged in Duluth Double Murder
Karen D. Nomiya 21 of Chicago faces two counts of first degree murder in the stabbing deaths of 56 year old Mrs. Eugene M. Cohn and her 21 year old daughter Suzanne in their Duluth home. Police found the bodies in the dining room. Nomiya was hospitalized after being found at the scene. Authorities planned arraignment date was not set.

In Minneapolis an AP report says a narcotic will be used to subdue and relocate 400 deer at the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant in Arden Hills. Woman Killed in Cass Lake Car Truck Collision
A Cass Lake crash on Thursday evening killed Maxine L. Morgan 32. Grain truck driver Lloyd T. Schummer 22 and car driver Clarence Drouillard 36 suffered injuries. Two Cass Lake passengers Howard Hardy 31 and John Dohr 25 were hospitalized. Additional fatalities included Floyd C. Park 66 from Redwood County injuries and John Martison 71 struck on U.S. 55 near Rockford. A state truck driver died later from an autopsy unclear cause.

Homeowners in Kato to Pay Less Tax in 68
Blue Earth County Auditor H G Stangland reported that most Mankato homeowners will see about a 29.8 percent tax cut for 1968 compared with 1967 due to a 1967 state law allowing up to 35 percent tax relief. The 35 percent cap was not fully realized locally as higher levies offset part of the reduction. The Mankato School District mill rate rose 6.91 from 1966 67, the city increased 5.38, and the county mill rate climbed 9.39.
