Two Are Fatally Wounded In Street Quarrel

Miss Theresa Zampion is fatally wounded and Joe Nezacappa is badly hurt after an argument on the upper levee in St. Paul. An Italian resident allegedly fired shots as he confronted the two at or near their Spring Street home. Both victims were shot in the back while fleeing, with the assailant reportedly opposing Nezacappa’s relationship with Zampion.

Hunter Killed in Mistaken Deer Hunt near Laporte

Ed Boosom, 35, was shot and killed four miles east of Laporte while hunting with brothers Sy and Marion Slagle who say they mistook him for a deer. Boosom wore a gray cap and did not stop when whistled. one bullet struck the head and another the hip, severing the backbone. The coroner was notified as the two shooters surrendered. Boosom left a wife and two young children.
