More Water In North Austin Due
North Austin will gain more water capacity around November 1 as a 30 inch main along the Missouri Pacific right of way from the filter plant to West 35th Street is completed with a tie in to the North Austin system this week. Albert R. Davis, water superintendent, says the line has been finished and will receive a final test before service begins. The improved supply should boost pressure in low pressure areas such as Ridgetop and other North Austin sectors, though some house distribution pipes may limit the benefit and corrosion in service lines can reduce pressure.
