Smithville WSCS sponsored a seated silver tea with program pieces by Mrs. C W Denman of Yoakum and Miss Elna Reichart. Recitations by Mrs. Adolph E Adamsik, organ music by Miss Mary Ann Adam cik and Charles Edward Mize. Guests included Mesdames Lane, Arm strong, Perkins, Craft, Cartwright, Ramson. Local members aided in hosting.

Violet Crown Garden Club to stage first benefit show
The Grandpa Show, a musical comedy parody titled Glamorizing Grandpa, marks the Violet Crown Garden Club’s first fund raiser. Proceeds support a permanent garden center in Austin for about 700 members. The show runs Tuesday night and Wednesday at Hogg Auditorium with tickets at 1.20 dollars.
