Lee County farmer develops turkey raising work into art
Giddings Texas October 20 James J Brown of Lexington is advancing turkey farming with efficient methods learned from Fritz Graeber. He started with 1600 poults and raised over 1800 with under ten percent loss, built two brooders, uses double pasturing on his 371 acre farm, and plans more housing. He sold 367 toms averaging 25.12 pounds each, plans hatching eggs from 600 hens, and works with SCS District while pursuing winter crops and soil protection.
