German Boy Receives American Pants and Aims to Write Back
A German widow in Syke in the British Zone thanks Kelton Reynolds of 4000 Avenue B for donated trousers from Shettles Memorial Methodist church. Kelton’s note invites correspondence, and Frau Krohmeyer recounts wartime loss, hopes for schooling, and plans to teach her sons about the war’s horrors while they adapt to life in a cold, expensive postwar Germany. Kelton plans to write from Baker School about his own life and illness remains.
