Texas farmers pressed harvest activities during a week of open weather across the state. Rain hindered unharvested rice and cotton in the eastern rice belt, while the western belt saw resumed harvesting as fields drained. Northeastern Texas saw farmers in fields harvesting mature crops and prepping land for small grains. Northwest Texas reported strong progress on cotton and grain sorghum amid two weeks of open weather, with pastures providing curing grain while eastern pasture remained soggy from prior rains. Grass stayed green in the eastern third despite recent rain. Wheat pasture development continued in the High Plains with more fields grazed.
