Three AHS Students, Parents Awarded $43,000 Damages
Judge Jack Roberts in 126th District Court ruled against Rem-Rand Inc awarding three Austin High School students and their parents a total of 43000 for injuries and deaths from a September 9 1948 traffic collision in which Jim Lung and his wife died while transporting the students to a football game. The plaintiffs Elizabeth Trousdale Nancy Clark Beverlyn DeWitt and their parents received varied sums including 9624 plus 3376 for Trousdale 10000 each for Clark and Clark and 8243.92 plus 1756.08 for DeWitt and her father.

Collision Kills One In Sugar Land Collision
A two vehicle crash west of Sugar Land on Monday night killed 2 year old Charles Glenn Camron of Jewett who was riding in a car driven by an adult. The accident occurred about a half mile west of the town and involved a truck.
