Texas Dirt Farmers Change Name to Texas Agriculture Federation
The Texas Dirt Farmers Congress will be renamed the Texas Agriculture Federation after a mail ballot of 70 directors. President Evans Reese of Waco and first vice president Charles C. McKamy of Carrollton were elected, with Dolph Briscoe Jr. of Uvalde as second vice president. Expanded scope aims to address general Texas agriculture issues as livestock men and other producer groups supported the change. The fall directors meeting is planned for October in Dallas at the Texas State Fair. The new executive committee lists Reese McKamy Briscoe and 17 other officers and chairmen across multiple Texas cities.
