Llano honors Rear Admiral Herber H. McLean USN as guest of honor for the opening of the joint Llano County Homecoming Celebration and Rodeo. Parade chairman John Dodgen says the native son will return June 2, son of Mrs. J. H. McLean and late Judge McLean, a Llano High and US Naval Academy graduate.

In Taylor on May 18 an aged blind pianist J. J. Faulkner collapsed during a piano rendition of Bye Bye Blackbird on KTAE. He dragged a microphone as he fell. Attendants say his condition was critical.
