State Survey O monitors Central Texas oil lease prices
The General Land Office reported surveys in Central Texas to track oil production and prevailing mineral lease prices. P. D. Craig, head of the mineral division, described ongoing checks, especially near state lands, to support the School Land Board. A recent survey focused on 2000 acres in northwest Hays County. The UT Land Board led by Bascom Giles will auction mineral leases Friday at the Stephen F. Austin Hotel for 43 000 acres, with another sale planned June 7 for about 180 000 acres across bays inlets riverbeds and some upland leases.
